Whilst lying and daydreaming on the beach side one day! Two sheikh chillis (Paul and Monal) experienced food and beverage professionals thought of founding Shake Chilli.
Name has been derived from famous “Sheikh Chilli – a comic Indian character”. Sheikh Chilli is often named when talking about daydreamers. His tales have been popular among people of different nationalities and classes. His casual attitude and a fondness for building air castles have not just entertained people for centuries, but have also been inspiration for many other stories and characters.
Amidst Ras Al Khamiah’s newest development, right in the heart of Mina Al Arab, an upper middle class neighbourhood’s space where you can toast the old times and celebrate the new! Shake Chilli, an Indian Bistro that promises you an exciting journey on a plate (and in a glass), albeit in a refreshing new avatar. Welcome to Shake Chilli! Dishes such as the Bun Maska, Shake Chilli Triple Decker Paratha, Indi Ceaser, Bunno Kebab, Bhatti Ka Murga, Pudina Champaen, Tandoori Salmon are some of the creations to look out for. The drinks include classic cocktails such as Ginger Mojito that have been given a whole new lease of life with a touch of Indian flavours, and a selection of reimagined Shake Chilli Punches such as “Sadak Chap Masala Soda”, Shake Chilli lime drink. Each dish from North India on the menu has a story to tell. The space has been artfully created, rich in warm wood and muted earth tones, offset by the traditional patterned tiles and high ceilings. Warm hospitality, efficient service and an inimitable space to match, this Indian Bistro, has everything you need to have a good time.
Shake Chilli’s team will go out of their way to entertain you with some of their skills – with live cooking and crack some Sheikh Chilli’s jokes from his tales and books. You can also laugh whilst reading some Sheikh Chilli’s jokes from his library in the restaurant.
Bistro endeavors to cater to customers who wish to dine within Bistro, or have a delivery at their convenience within their homes or offices. Bistro is geared up to do a small catering up to 25 guests.

Monal is an industry veteran, having spent close to 20 years in some of the finest award winning Hotels and Resorts in the region – The Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Bab Al Shams Desert Resort and Spa, Royal Meridian, Abu Dhabi (Formerly the Forte Grand Abu Dhabi) and The Crowne Plaza in Bahrain and Bangalore. He held many positions such as Deputy General Manager, F&B Incharge, Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine. A Chef by profession, has cooked for many famous personalities – Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, Michael Schumacher, Greg Norman – just to name a few as well as the Royalty. Cookery shows, judging cooking competitions, food promotions in malls and exhibitions, conducted cooking classes including the famous Rite Bite series on Healthy eating in collaboration with Khaleej times and Dr. Akel Medical center. Monal also has been on board the luxury cruise liner Crystal cruises to do a food promotion. After having opened award wining Indian restaurants in two different five star hotels, Monal took a step in starting one for himself - Shake Chilli is just the beginning...

An energetic and extrovert personality Hospitality, Conference & Banqueting and Food & Beverage Management professional with 25 plus years experience. Broad range experience encompasses 5 star hotel openings like Forte Grand, Sheraton, Jumeirah and luxury hospitals where Paul set up policies & procedures for Food & Beverage outlets and Conference & Banqueting. He was instrumental in providing sound foundations to these establishments, which are now multi million dirhams operations today. Paul held top positions like Hotel Manager, Director Operations, Food and Beverage Manager before he ventured into his own business.
